The State Council approved a national territorial spatial plan for Hebei province for the 2021-2035 period, according to an official reply released on Dec 13.
According to the reply, by 2035, the total area of cultivated land in Hebei should be no less than 88.01 million mu, and the red line for ecological protection should not be less than 36,390 square kilometers.
The province should leverage its geographic position to push forward coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, helping to build a world-class city cluster, with the high-standard and high-quality construction of Xiong'an New Area, the reply said.
Hebei is also asked to strengthen its grain production capacity in the main agricultural products areas of the Huang-Huai-Hai plain and improve production in the piedmont plain of Yanshan-Taihang mountains, and construct the marine ranch demonstration zone using high standards.
In addition, efforts should be made to build a modern and comprehensive ports cluster and create a beautiful coastline, according to the reply.
