Blueprint to strengthen oversight of healthcare fund

Key measures outlined in the plan include intensifying on-site inspections, empowering oversight using technology such as big data and artificial intelligence, and improving the long-term legal framework.
Official data shows that as of the end of 2025, China's basic medical insurance fund recorded 3.5 trillion yuan ($514 billion) in revenue and 3 trillion yuan in expenditure, with over 1.33 billion people enrolled nationwide.
Regulators put safety of new energy vehicles in spotlight
Chinese regulators have called for the strengthened safety management of new energy vehicles to ensure the sector's healthy development, according to a recent video conference jointly held by three government bodies.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Fire and Rescue Administration.
Relevant automakers and power battery enterprises are required to take primary responsibility for product quality and safety, as well as to strengthen risk prevention in research and development, production, supply chain and after-sales services, the conference heard. Companies were urged to avoid false or exaggerated promotion.
The regulators vowed to jointly conduct inspections on potential safety hazards and look into product defects, and severely crack down on violations to ensure sound industrial development.
Campaign launched to regulate certification bodies
The State Administration for Market Regulation has issued a work plan for a nationwide campaign aimed at raising the bar for certification bodies.
The campaign outlines 15 measures across four key areas: tightening market access, standardizing certification practices, enhancing professional capabilities, and strengthening supervision.
Key actions include stricter qualification reviews, unified national certification rules, support for leading certification bodies, and improved risk monitoring and smart regulation. The initiative seeks to promote the healthy and orderly development of the certification service industry.
Official data shows that as of the end of 2025, China had over 1,200 certification institutions.
Initiative guides survey, zoning of agricultural climate resources
China has launched a nationwide initiative to survey and zone its agricultural climate resources, following an implementation plan jointly issued by the China Meteorological Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
According to the plan, the survey is scheduled to be largely completed by 2027, and the zoning is expected to be fully completed and put into use between 2026 and 2029. The three tasks — survey, zoning and application — will be carried out concurrently.
Key outcomes will include detailed climate zoning maps for five major agricultural categories — comprehensive agriculture, cropping systems, animal husbandry, fisheries, and facility agriculture — as well as for 25 key crops, covering national, provincial, city and county levels. The plan also calls for the establishment of a supporting database and an integrated service platform.
