BEIJING — China allocated 30 million yuan (about $4.35 million) of disaster relief funds for southwestern Guizhou province, where a landslide killed at least 11 people late on July 23.
The funds, allocated by the ministries of finance and emergency management, will be used to support the search, rescue and relocation of victims, as well as other disaster relief work, the Ministry of Emergency Management said on its website on July 24.
The landslide lashed a village in the city of Liupanshui at about 9:20 pm on July 23. So far, it has left 11 people dead and 42 others missing. Rescue work is still underway.
