BEIJING — China's Ministry of Education has issued a guideline to strengthen and regulate universities' management of student internships.
Universities were urged to shoulder more responsibilities in managing student internships, and to step up construction of internship bases and boost expenditure to support student internships, according to the guideline.
The guideline asked provincial-level education authorities to strengthen supervision over universities' work in internship management.
It also proposed more flexible internship schedules, an information-sharing platform for universities and companies and more research-oriented internships.
