BEIJING — A publicity campaign was launched on Oct 15 to educate Chinese college students about preventing online fraud and usury traps.
Jointly carried out by the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Education, the campaign will ask students across the country to create short films, videos, animations and posters focused on the theme of anti-fraud.
A variety of educational activities are scheduled to be held in universities across the country by Chinese police; videos of the online course will also be released nationwide to warn students of fraud and usury.
New types of internet-based crime, especially telecommunication fraud and internet fraud, have become more prevalent in recent years. Many students in China were deceived last year while engaging in online games and shopping.
