BEIJING — China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has formed 11 statistical inspection teams to launch the first round of inspection to fight statistical fraud.
The first batch of statistical inspectors will go to nine provinces and autonomous regions and two State Council departments from late October to late November, according to the NBS.
The move aims to facilitate the establishment of a responsibility system for preventing statistical fraud and falsification, so as to ensure the quality of statistical data.
Solid statistical data can guarantee an accurate reflection of the process of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, according to the NBS.
The NBS is responsible for the collection, investigation, research and publication of statistics concerning China's economy, population and other aspects of the society.
