BEIJING — The Ministry of Public Security will intensify the crackdown on the production and sale of fake and inferior seeds, pesticides and fertilizers, among other farming supplies.
The campaign is aimed at ensuring the supply of quality farming materials and preventing safety scandals involving agricultural products, said the ministry.
Police nationwide will target agricultural materials wholesalers and retailers, as well as logistics distribution centers, to harshly clamp down on low-quality seeds, pesticides and fertilizers.
Meanwhile, police will make full use of information technology, including big data, to uncover illegal activities involving counterfeit or shoddy farming materials on the internet, the ministry said.
