BEIJING — China has begun soliciting public opinions on a draft regulation that revises the response of nursing homes to infectious diseases in light of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said on April 14.
The draft revision asks nursing homes to report confirmed or suspected cases of infectious diseases among the elderly in a timely manner and take sanitary and quarantine measures accordingly.
The draft also states that nursing homes can contact family members of the elderly if they have not paid visits or sent regards for an extended period.
Nursing homes are also asked to install surveillance cameras in their public areas and keep the footage on file.
