BEIJING — A Chinese official on April 16 urged administrative departments of cultural relics across the country to stay alert to fire hazards.
Noting that some cases of forest fire this year have threatened certain cultural relics, Liu Yuzhu, head of China's National Cultural Heritage Administration, said cultural relics units should improve their fire-fighting equipment.
For the units located in mountain forests, extra attention should be paid to the close-by fires, Liu said, noting that firebreaks or fire barriers should be set up to protect the units.
