BEIJING — An online culture week celebrating the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival opened on Sept 28.
Titled "Mid-Autumn Festival: A Moonmoment to Remember," the event aims to introduce the cultural significance, history, culture, and art of this traditional Chinese festival from multiple angles.
Revolving around five themes including Mid-Autumn Festival culture and traveling during the Mid-Autumn Festival, the event uses digital technologies to provide audiences with virtual exhibitions, interactive experiences, and online performances, thus introducing the historical and cultural value of the Mid-Autumn Festival as a national intangible cultural heritage and revealing its cultural connotations of "health, harmony, and reunion."
Scheduled from Sept 28 to Oct 5, the culture week will present audiences livestreaming concerts, an online Mid-Autumn Festival gourmet workshop, and an online lecture revealing fun facts about the festival.
Organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the event is being held online for the first time this year.
