BEIJING — Thirty COVID-19 patients were newly discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland on Jan 23, the National Health Commission said in a daily report on Jan 24.

There were 1,800 confirmed cases still being treated, including 94 in severe conditions, the report showed.

As of Jan 23, the Chinese mainland had reported a total of 88,991 confirmed COVID-19 cases, among whom 82,556 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery and 4,635 died of the disease.
