BEIJING — China's electronic information manufacturing industry recorded steady growth in revenue and profits last year, official data showed.

Operating revenue of the industry amounted to about 14.1 trillion yuan (about $2.2 trillion) in 2021, up 14.7 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The profits of the industry surged 38.9 percent from a year earlier to 828.3 billion yuan, the ministry said.

The added value of the industry increased 15.7 percent in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 8 percentage points in the growth rate. The 2021 growth rate marked a new high in the last 10 years, the ministry said.
