BEIJING — The Chinese mainland on Feb 7 recorded 65 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, the National Health Commission said on Feb 8.
Of the new local infections, 64 were reported in Guangxi and one in Tianjin, the commission said in its daily report.
Feb 7 also saw seven provincial-level regions reporting 40 imported COVID-19 cases, said the commission. It added that no new suspected cases or deaths from COVID-19 were reported in the day.
A total of 46 asymptomatic cases were newly reported on Feb 7, 42 of whom arrived from outside the mainland, according to the commission.
As of Feb 7, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, both local and imported, reported on the Chinese mainland had reached 106,524.
There were 1,473 patients still under treatment on Feb 7, of whom five were in severe condition. A total of 4,636 patients had died of the virus on the Chinese mainland since the outbreak of the pandemic.
