BEIJING — A Chinese e-commerce platform selling products from the country's 832 counties that had been lifted out of poverty has seen its sales exceeding 20 billion yuan (about $3.14 billion).
The platform, fupin832.com, was established to support poverty relief on Jan 1, 2020, integrating online displays, online trading, logistics tracking, online payments, and product tracing.
Over 200,000 agricultural products such as rice, flour, cooking oil, vegetables and fruit are available on the website.
Further efforts will be made to promote the sales of farm produce from areas just lifted out of poverty, strictly control the quality of products on the platform and improve the price mechanism, according to the operator of the platform.
China has stressed efforts to consolidate its poverty elimination achievements and push for rural vitalization.
The platform is under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Rural Revitalization Administration, and the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.
