Premier Li Keqiang stressed streamlining administration and delegating powers in the reform of overall planning involving different government departments during an inspection of an area piloting the reform in Sanya, South China’s Hainan province, on March 22.
“The concerned departments need to better coordinate their functions and resolve the conflicts and contradictions in comprehensive planning,” Premier Li said.
“Enterprises must be given the power to act as market players on their own without having to be subject to various examinations and approvals from the government as long as they don’t run counter to the government blueprint,” the Premier said.
“The government should focus on supervision of market activities,” Premier Li added.
