President of UN General Assembly excited for Premier Li’s attendance

Peter Thomson, president of the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, holds “high expectations” for Premier Li Keqiang’s first speech at the UN General Assembly.

During an interview, Thomson said China had made tremendous achievements in the implementation of the UN Millennium Development Goals, especially in poverty alleviation. And, he added, it had made “inspiring” commitments to the United Nations’ peacekeeping efforts and sustainable development.
