Premier Li meets new diplomatic envoys in Beijing

Premier Li Keqiang met with new diplomatic envoys from 35 countries at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sept 30, on the eve of the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Premier Li welcomed the new diplomatic envoys and asked them to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to their state leaders and their countrymen.

The Premier stressed that China adheres to the independent foreign policy of peace, and follow the road of peaceful development. China is willing to strengthen political mutual trust, expand pragmatic cooperation, and achieve win-win results with countries around the world on the basis of mutual respect and treating each other equally, he added.

While bringing benefits to its people, China enhances global partnership for development, works with other countries to tackle various challenges, and promotes the robust, sustainable, balanced and inclusive growth of global economy, said the Premier.

He noted that China, as the world’s largest developing country, like many other countries, faces heavy tasks in a growing economy and in improving people’s livelihood.

China will advance its development through deepening reform and expanding opening up, continue to improve an open economy and promote upgrading its economy, and achieve common development with other countries through opening up and cooperation.

China makes efforts to maintain medium- to high-speed economy, and heads toward medium and high-end levels, which will provide more opportunities for the development of other countries, the Premier added.

He also said that he hopes the new diplomatic envoys will use their advantages, and make contributions to further friendship between their country and China. In addition, China is willing to help their work in China.

The new diplomatic envoys expressed their best wishes on the 67th anniversary of China’s National Day celebration, and conveyed their state leaders’ cordial greetings to the Chinese people and its leaders.

They said that China makes great contributions to maintaining world peace and promoting mutual development. China has made remarkable achievements in development, which makes them keenly aware of the great responsibility of their work. They will continue to promote bilateral relations and strengthen friendship and cooperation with China, the envoys said.

Afterward, at the invitation of the Premier, the envoys attended a reception celebrating the 67th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
