State Councilor Yang Jiechi joined a panel discussion with deputies from Liaoning province to the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC) on March 7 to discuss the draft amendment to China’s Constitution.
Yang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said he fully agreed with the draft amendment.
“The inclusion of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the change in terms of China’s president are representative of the Party and the country’s innovation outcomes in theory, practice and system,” he said, stressing its role in upholding the authoritativeness and the centralized and unified leading role of the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as its core and the future development of the Party and the country.
Yang also urged advancing the Constitution in society, increasing people’s awareness and further building China into a country ruled by law.
