Shanghai WinSun Decoration Design Engineering Co. unveiled five villas created with a 3D printer, in an industrial park in China’s Jiangsu province on Jan 20.
The villas - including a five-storey home - were created with a printer, using ‘ink’ consisting of a mixture of recycled construction waste, glass, steel and cement which was sprayed on layer by layer until a thick wall was created.
This new technology could reduce the time required to construct homes, and cut the cost by 50%.
