Electrical construction for Lhasa-Nyingchi railway underway

Staff members from the China Railway Electrification Engineering Group work at an electrical construction site on Rongxiang Bridge at an altitude of 3,560 meters in Sangri county, Shannan city, Southwest China’s Tibet autonomous region, on April 27. The electrical construction for the Tsetang-Sangri section of the Lhasa-Nyingchi railway undertaken by the China Railway Electrification Engineering Group is proceeding in an orderly manner. The masts of the overhead contact system have been assembled and the installation of cantilevers is in full swing. The 435.48-kilometer-long Lhasa-Nyingchi railway, with a designed speed of 160 km per hour, is the first electric railway in Tibet. [Photo/Xinhua]
