BEIJING — China issued guidelines on Feb 21 to support small household farmers and encourage them to become involved in modern agriculture.
The move aims to provide assistance to small household farmers, get them involved in modern agriculture, speed up development of modern agriculture and rural areas and facilitate the strategy to revitalize rural areas, according to the guidelines released by general offices of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council.
The country vowed to enhance agricultural services, improve production conditions of small household farmers, open up more channels for them to increase incomes and protect their rights and interests.
The government will offer policy incentives to encourage small household farmers to expand production, provide training, step up research and application of equipment and technologies that cater for their demand and improve rural infrastructure, according to the guidelines.
