Premier Li Keqiang spoke on the phone with Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok on April 16.
Hailing the deep traditional friendship between the two countries, Premier Li said the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is spreading in Africa, and the Chinese people stand firmly with the Sudanese people and will provide support and assistance in their fight against the epidemic
The virus is the common enemy of mankind, and no country can manage alone in this epidemic, the Premier said, adding that the Chinese people are willing to join hands with the people around the world, including Africa, to overcome difficulties and safeguard global public health security.
Hamdok said Sudan appreciates China's positive role in the anti-epidemic international cooperation and opposes any practice of stigmatization to a certain country.
He expressed his gratitude over China's selfless aid and said Sudan is willing to enhance cooperation and exchanges with China in epidemic control to deepen their traditional friendship.
State Councilor Wang Yi and He Lifeng, head of the National Development and Reform Commission also participated.
