Premier Li Keqiang paid a visit to some residents in Wucun village, Miaoqian town of Xiaxian county, Yuncheng city in North China’s Shanxi province, on Feb 7. He expressed his concerns about the heating conditions of them, who have been out of poverty there.
Every household in the village planted fruit trees and used biomass boilers for warmth, thanks to national policy support. Branches trimmed from fruit trees and straw pellets could be used as fuel for heating, solving villagers’ cooking and heating issues.
Premier Li said solving heating issue in North China should be practical and coal, electricity or gas should be chosen based on local conditions.
He affirmed the local solution to villagers’ heating issues, saying this technology reform takes advantage of local materials. It not only secured heating for villagers in winter, but also helped reduce pollution and protect the environment, he said.
Working for the people should focus on their practical needs, bringing them effective, economical and convenient solutions, said the Premier.
