BEIJING — State Councilor Zhao Kezhi told counterterrorism officials to fully implement major policies made by the central leadership and raise the anti-terrorism campaigns to a new scale on May 25.

The authorities will enhance intelligence work against terrorism and contain infiltration and spread of terrorism and religious extremism, said Zhao, also chief of a national anti-terrorism leading group, at a national anti-terrorism conference held in Beijing.

The country will maintain serious crackdown and high-level deterrence over terrorism, and close security loopholes, he said.

He stressed international cooperation and continuous efforts to curb extremism so as to destroy the breeding ground of terrorism.

He also required clear division of duties and efficient delivery of policies.
