State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Monica Juma in Shanghai on Nov 4.
Juma is traveling with the Kenyan president to attend the first China International Import Expo, in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.
Wang called for both countries to fulfill the consensus and results reached at the meeting between President Xi Jinping and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta and at the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in September. He stressed the need to support each other’s core interests and major concerns, and urged win-win cooperation in infrastructure, industrial parks, transportation, and people-to-people exchanges.
Juma said Kenya is happy with the results of the 2018 FOCAC, which will increase pragmatic cooperation with China.
