Vice-Premier Wang Yang on Jan 11 called for increasing the supply of tourism products to meet the growing demand from consumers.
“The tourism industry is steering into a golden era along with the upgrade of household consumption; however, tourism management and services cannot keep up with the rapid development,” Wang said at a joint inter-ministerial meeting of the State Council for tourism.
We should speed up improving tourism infrastructure and services, tap the potential of rural tourism, and establish a well-enforced supervisory system, he said.
In particular, the vice-premier urged local governments and tourism enterprises to take precautions for the upcoming Spring Festival holiday to prevent travel accidents.
